How does a 810nm/980nm/1064nm/1470nm Diode Surgical Laser work in soft tissue surgery?
How does a 980nm Diode Surgical Laser work?
GBOX , operating at a wavelength of 980nm in the near infra-red portion of the spectrum, has unsurpassed absorption in water and hemoglobin. It allows controlled ability to coagulate, cut, char, or ablate/vaporize tissue depending on the power density and the energy level applied by the surgeon. The surgeon can control the extent to which the laser beam is absorbed by surrounding tissue, resulting in an extremely precise tissue incision.
New generation veterinary laser-Dual wavelength 810nm++980nm surgical laser
Benefits of Gbox dual wavelength 810nm+980nm Laser Surgery
Reduced Bleeding:When making an incision, Gbox laser beam cauterizes and seals blood vessels up to 1mm in diameter. The laser energy facilitates hemostasis and provides the surgeon with a virtually bloodless surgical field.Reduced Infection:
Gbox laser energy acts as an antimicrobial/anti-bacterial agent by producing high temperatures. As the laser beam penetrates the incision site, the high surface temperature effectively eliminates existing microorganisms, resulting in a sterile surgical environment.Reduced Pain:
The Gbox laser beam seals nerve endings along with servered nerves as it incises through tissue. This ultimately reduces the amount of pain that an animal feels during and after surgery.Reduced Swelling:
Physical contact between the laser and the surgical region is never established with Gbox laser technology. The 980nm+810nm dual wavelength beam of infrared light penetrates the tissue via the ablation/vaporization of cells and thoroughly seals the lymphatic vessels within the surgical field. Because the crushing, tearing and bruising of tissue associated traditional surgical methods does not occur with laser surgery, there is a decrease in the post-operative inflammation of incisions.

Acne Laser treatment
Acne Laser treatment
1. Active acne
Developments in laser technology now offer a breakthrough in the treatment of active acne. Aesthetic laser systems use a high power laser, such as Diode (980 nm), to penetrate the skin and target the bacteria that produces the inflammation associated with acne. This bacteria releases molecules called porphyrins which when exposed to a certain wavelength of light (the laser beam) increase in number until they destroy the bacteria.
2. Acne scars
Lasers have been used to treat acne scars for several years. In such treatments the Er:YAG (2940 nm) laser is used to remove skin so that new skin can form in its place. Unlike chemical peels and dermabrasion with laser resurfacing the penetration depth into the skin is more easily controlled. The laser gently vaporises the acne-scarred surface of the skin so that undamaged skin below is revealed. Unlike many other techniques laser resurfacing is bloodless, gentle and complete recovery is achieved within days.
Some of the laser systems include both an erbium laser that allows the minimal penetration required for the gentle resurfacing of acne-scarred skin, and a neodymium laser to penetrate deeper in order to destroy the active bacteria in acne (propionobacterium). As a result, present laser systems offer a comprehensive solution to the misery of acne.

1470nm Laser Axillary Hyperhidrosis Treatment
Laser Axillary Hyperhidrosis Treatment is a safe, effective, and minimally invasive solution for hyperhidrosis. Laser treatments are among the least invasive of all surgical techniques, so scarring and patient immobilization are not a concern.
Target Sweat Glands, Without Collateral Damage
For treating hyperhidrosis, 1470nm diode laser light is used to permanently destroy axillary sweat glands by photoselectively heating sweat gland tissue without damaging the surrounding tissue. The procedure is performed under local anesthetic and is finished in less than an hour.
The Treatment of Choice - Simple, Safe, and Effective
A growing number of doctors consider the Diode laser to be the treatment of choice for hyperhidrosis, especially when the simplicity and speed of the procedure (as well as the minimal risk of complications) are taken into consideration. The whole operation takes about one hour, and patients can return to their normal activities within a few hours of treatment, leading to a full recovery within four to seven days.

Laser beam focused by the lens on the retina or fovea
An incident laser beam striking directly inline with the lens is very
dangerous. The beam is magnified over 100,000 times by the lens of
the eye. The more divergence of the beam the less light strikes the eye.
The more the mean is focused or collimated the greater the fluence of
the beam and potential for injury.
Safety Goggles
Not all Safety Goggles are the same. The protective eyewear that came with your laser is manufactured
specifically for the wavelengths emitted by the laser. Do not use protective eyewear from other
manufacturers as they may not provide the appropriate level of protection

Laser Acupuncture (Needleless Acupuncture)
Laser Acupuncture (Needleless Acupuncture)
Laser Acupuncture relies upon similar dosage principles as needling, and knowledge of acupuncture theory
and practice is required. There are two approaches; first the Precise Approach; and second the General Approach.
1. The Precise Approach uses the laser with great finesse to effect stimulation of the precise acupuncture
points. Some believe that lower dosages will “tonify” the acupuncture points, while higher dosages will
“sedate” the acupuncture points.
2. The General Approach uses the laser to stimulate the acupuncture points and the surrounding area of
the acupuncture point.
Active acupuncture points are typically painful upon palpation. The application of laser therapy has proven
to be effective at “releasing” the acupuncture point, and reducing pain

Diode Laser for BPH Comparison with Holmium:YAG laser, ND:Yag, KTP lasers
Diode Laser for BPH
Comparison with Holmium:YAG laser, ND:Yag, KTP lasers
Diode laser system has a wavelength of 980 nm. It offers a high simultaneous absorption in water and hemoglobin and is postulated to combine high tissue ablative properties with good hemostasis. The high gain of the diode laser allows the more efficient use of the photons that are generated; hence, the available diode laser units are small and portable (26kg) and special connections are not required (230V)
"An initial study of ten patients who underwent diode laser vaporization of the prostate showed encouraging results at 1 year follow-up. A Spanish study reported enucleation of prostate by diode laser in 17 patients. The mean prostate volume was 61.26cc. The mean loss of hemoglobin was only 2.1 g/dl. There were no major consequences or complications. Patients needed a short catheter placement and had good immediate post-operative improvement".
940nm for facial telangiectasias
Facial telangiectasias have been successfully treated with a variety of laser wavelengths. Shorter wavelengths (532 nm) are preferable in the treating of very small vessels on the face; longer wavelengths 940nm are more effective in the treating of larger and deeper vessels. In medical study, we identified that the 940 nm has the benefits of a longer wavelength in targeting larger caliber and deeper vessels with a safety profile superior to that of shorter wavelength.
Lasers with long wavelengths of light, within the visible spectrum, penetrate more deeply into the skin, making them more suitable for deeper vessels. The 940 nm diode laser was found to have greater efficacy for deeper blood vessels based upon its superior penetration of the dermis with a longer wavelength.

Diode Laser Enucleation of Prostate with HPLAS 980nm urology laser
Diode laser enucleation is a reproducible technique for surgeons with prior experience in holmium laser enucleation and it improves haemostatic efficacy in comparison with the holmium laser, despite losing cutting power, although at the same time it allows correct vision of the prostatic capsule throughout the procedure. The functional results with this technology will be optimum and will not be influenced by the enucleating power of the laser, but by the quality and visibility of the enucleation itself.

810nm laser for dental application.
810nm laser for dental application.
The term laser stands for "Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation", which means a device that produces and amplifies light. The wavelength of the light produced will determine what types of tissues can be modified by the light’s energy. Light waves that emanate from within the visible and near-infrared portions of the electromagnetic spectrum will be readily absorbed into body pigments like melanin in the skin, and heme found within hemoglobin in blood. They will have virtually no affinity for water and thus, it won’t be absorbed a

Thus, these wave lengths are primarily used in hard tissue lasers. With a frequency of 810 nanometers, the CHEESE Dental Diode Laser’s wave length falls into the lower end of the near-infrared spectrum, making it very suitable for soft-tissue applications.

What procedures can be used with the CHEESE Dental laser?
The CHEESE Dental Laser is a new tool that will improve your ability to perform existing procedures faster and more efficiently and will also allow you to expand the services currently offered in your office. As each clinical situation is unique, the appropriate power setting is primarily determined by the type of procedure to be performed. For example, a more fibrotic tissue requires higher power; or the selected mode of operation, continuous or pulse can be used for pain relief or teeth whitening. The speed of cutting desired by the operator will also determine the power intensity selected, it is always best to use the lowest power setting that will effectively modify the tissue while avoiding tissue charring.
Most commonly performed procedures performed with the CHEESE Diode Laser: Gingivectomy, Gingivoplasty Soft Tissue Crown Lengthening Troughing for impressions or cementation Creating emergence profile for Ovate Pontics Recontouring of interproximal tissue Implant exposure Treating of Aphtous Ulcers, Herpetic Lesions Biopsy and Fibroma Removal Abscess Care - Incision and Drainage Hemostasis Frenum Release Exposure of slow erupting teeth Sealing lymphatics in surgical area Soft Tissue curettage for periodontal treatment Treating Gingival Hyperplasia Operculectomy Joint and Muscle Pain Increased Circulation Soft Tissue Pain Teeth Whitening

810nm vs 980nm comparison for Dental Laser treatment
810nm vs 980nm Dental Diode Laser
What’s the difference between 810nm and 980nm wavelengths?
Many clients ask me this question.
When using an 810 nm wavelength you have a higher absorption rate to hemoglobin and melanin in the skin whereas the 980 nm wavelength you have more absorption to water first. As a result, the 980nm is better for ablation and 810nm is better for coagulation.
But It is hard to tell the difference between the wavelengths clinically, as the absorption differences are very minor.

Optimal results in endovenous treatment
VELAS 1470nm laser is indicated for the treatment of internal and external saphenous and collateral veins, on an outpatient basis. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and consists of introducing a very thin flexible laser fiber through a very small incision (2 -3 mm into the damaged vein. Fiber is guided under ecodoppler, until it reaches the optimum position for treatment.
Once the fiber is located, the VELAS laser is activated, delivering energy pulses of 4 -5 seconds, while the fiber begins to slowly pull out. Applied laser energy makes the treated varicose vein to retract, occluding it at each energy pulse.

Onychomycosis and plantar warts Laser Treatment
Plantar warts are painful lesions caused by the human papilloma virus. They look like corns with black dots in the center and appear in the soles of feet, varying in size and number. When plantar warts grow at the points of support of feet they are usually coated with a layer of hard skin, forming a compact plate sunk into the skin because of pressure.
VELAS30F 30w laser is a fast comfortable to get rid of plantar warts. The procedure is performed by applying the laser over the entire surface of the wart once the infected area has been removed. Depending on the case, you may need from one to various sessions of treatment.

PLDD disc decompression laser
Percutaneous laser disc decompression (PLDD) is a type of surgery in which a laser probe is inserted into the intervertebral disc space and laser energy applied for achieving decompression and neuromodulation thereby relieving the pain. PLDD is a minimally invasive procedure that falls into the category of percutaneous intervertebral surgeries with the aim to significantly reduce the patient's pain and recover neurological deficit. It is performed under local anesthesia. By a specially designed laser, with a coefficient of absorbing energy adjusted for soft discus tissue, specific amount of heat is sent to achieve the evaporation of the water from the disc without additional thermal damage thus achieving decompression and creation of a stable intradiscal scar that will prevent herniation from reoccurring.
Onychomychosis (nail fungus) Therapy laser
Onychomychosis is a fungal infection of the nail and its prevalence is about 6% in the adult population. The causative pathogens of onychomycosis include dermatophytes like Trichophyton (rubrum, interdigitale, Epidermophyton floccosum), but also molds and yeasts like Candida.
Complete treatment of onychomycosis is challenging because the infection is embedded within the nail and is difficult to reach; full removal of symptoms is slow and may take a year or more.
Most treatments are either systemic or topical antifungal medications.
These antifungal treatments achieve modest clinical results and, in addition, can cause common side effects like headache, skin and gastrointestinal disordes.
A novel non–invasive approach includes the irradiation of a laser beam, whose wavelength is absorbed by microbial pathogens on a specific area. The absorbed energy is converted into heat and the consequent temperature increase deactivates the pathogenic micro-organism without damaging the surrounding tissues.
The specific wavelength of 1064nm deactivates the parasitic organism; moreover, the pulse width of the laser beam, in the order of ms, is lower than the skin relaxation time (of the order of 10 ms) and this allows the thermal confinement of the absorbed energy and the consequent painless treatment.
The GBOX 1064nm laser is supplied with an optical fiber, handpiece and safety goggles in a suitcase for the easy transportation of the device.

VELAS 1470nm Laser Lipolysis
Laser lipolysis is the least invasive method of treatment for fat reduction.
VELAS 1470 emits at a wavelength highly absorbed by fat compared with other wavelength. Laser light energy is absorbed causing the swelling and rupture of adipocytes. When the fat is melted, it can either be absorbed by the body or removed by the physician with liposuction. While melting the fatty tissue the VELAS 1470 also tightens the surrounding skin, preventing it from sagging after the
fatty deposits have been removed. The heating effect of the laser induces new collagen and elastin formation within the skin. Shrinking is more pronounced and skin is much smoother than after classical liposuction.
Laser lipolysis is less invasive than classical liposuction because only a 1-2mm incision is required to insert the cannula with the optical fiber and there is no need for general anesthesia.
The fatty tissue removal process requires less external force and exertion compared to the standard liposuction.
Thermally induced coagulation minimizes bleeding and trauma, as well as posttreatment bruising and swelling. Patients can expect shorter recovery times and a reduced need for compressive garments, while they can get back to their daily activities immediately after the procedure.
GIGAA LASER offers a unique handpiece with small outer diameter cannulas and an integrated aspiration channel.

Laser application for Ophtalmology: Laser DCR surgery
Ophtalmology: DCR
DCR is a surgery performed to create a new tear drain between the eye and nose when the current tear drain becomes blocked or obstructed.
The nasolacrimal duct obstruction is suffered by 2-4% of population over 40 years old and 30-40% of individuals over 90 years old.
The traditional treatment method is to surgically reopen the lacrimal duct externally.
However, this is a lengthy, difficult procedure associated with a high potential for side effects such as strong, post-operative bleeding and
scar formation.
GIGAA LASER can supply a procedure kit for DCR that makes the reopening of the lacrimal duct a safer, minimally invasive procedure.
The cannula is introduced once in order to perform the treatment pain-free and bloodlessly.
Then, the required drainage is set in place using the same cannula.
The procedure can be done under local anesthesia and leaves no scars.
ADVANTAGES:
FOR PATIENTS
Atraumatic procedure Limited complications and side effects Local anesthesia
No post-operative bleeding or oedema
No infections
No scars
No hospitalization, it is an outpatient surgery center procedure
Enables a return to usual activities the following day
FOR DOCTORS
Minimally invasive procedure
Time savings
Very short learning curve

Wavelength of hair removal wavelength
Wavelength of hair removal wavelength
LASER HAIR REMOVAL is the process of removing unwanted hair by means of exposure to pulses of laser light that destroy the hair follicle.
The Diode laser system deliver a longer wavelength than the Ruby (694 nm wavelength) and the Alexandrite (755nm wavelength) lasers, but a shorter wavelength than the Nd: Yag (1064 nm wavelength) laser. This longer wavelength enables the light to penetrate deeper and is
theoretically safer than shorter wavelength lasers because it can better avoid the melanin pigment in the skin's epidermis. The Diode laser's longer wavelength of light thereby penetrates into the hair follicle without causing as much epidermal injury as the Ruby or the Alexandrite. This fact allows the Diode laser to be used on darker skin colors
than the Ruby or Alexandrite.
