Diode Laser for BPH Comparison with Holmium:YAG laser, ND:Yag, KTP lasers

Diode Laser for BPH
Comparison with Holmium:YAG laser, ND:Yag, KTP lasers
Diode laser system has a wavelength of 980 nm. It offers a high simultaneous absorption in water and hemoglobin and is postulated to combine high tissue ablative properties with good hemostasis. The high gain of the diode laser allows the more efficient use of the photons that are generated; hence, the available diode laser units are small and portable (26kg) and special connections are not required (230V)
"An initial study of ten patients who underwent diode laser vaporization of the prostate showed encouraging results at 1 year follow-up. A Spanish study reported enucleation of prostate by diode laser in 17 patients. The mean prostate volume was 61.26cc. The mean loss of hemoglobin was only 2.1 g/dl. There were no major consequences or complications. Patients needed a short catheter placement and had good immediate post-operative improvement".

940nm for facial telangiectasias

Facial telangiectasias have been successfully treated with a variety of laser wavelengths. Shorter wavelengths (532 nm) are preferable in the treating of very small vessels on the face; longer wavelengths 940nm are more effective in the treating of larger and deeper vessels. In medical study, we identified that the 940 nm has the benefits of a longer wavelength in targeting larger caliber and deeper vessels with a safety profile superior to that of shorter wavelength.

Lasers with long wavelengths of light, within the visible spectrum, penetrate more deeply into the skin, making them more suitable for deeper vessels. The 940 nm diode laser was found to have greater efficacy for deeper blood vessels based upon its superior penetration of the dermis with a longer wavelength.

Diode Laser Enucleation of Prostate with HPLAS 980nm urology laser

Diode Laser Enucleation of Prostate with HPLAS 980nm urology laser
Diode laser enucleation is a reproducible technique for surgeons with prior experience in holmium laser enucleation and it improves haemostatic efficacy in comparison with the holmium laser, despite losing cutting power, although at the same time it allows correct vision of the prostatic capsule throughout the procedure. The functional results with this technology will be optimum and will not be influenced by the enucleating power of the laser, but by the quality and visibility of the enucleation itself.

810nm laser for dental application.

810nm laser for dental application. The term laser stands for "Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation", which means a device that produces and amplifies light. The wavelength of the light produced will determine what types of tissues can be modified by the light’s energy. Light waves that emanate from within the visible and near-infrared portions of the electromagnetic spectrum will be readily absorbed into body pigments like melanin in the skin, and heme found within hemoglobin in blood. They will have virtually no affinity for water and thus, it won’t be absorbed a
t the surface as it enters soft tissues. Wave lengths located within the mid to far infrared range are attracted to water and the hydroxyapatite crystals that are found within bone and teeth. Thus, these wave lengths are primarily used in hard tissue lasers. With a frequency of 810 nanometers, the CHEESE Dental Diode Laser’s wave length falls into the lower end of the near-infrared spectrum, making it very suitable for soft-tissue applications.

What procedures can be used with the CHEESE Dental laser?

What procedures can be used with the CHEESE Dental laser?
The CHEESE Dental Laser is a new tool that will improve your ability to perform existing procedures faster and more efficiently and will also allow you to expand the services currently offered in your office. As each clinical situation is unique, the appropriate power setting is primarily determined by the type of procedure to be performed. For example, a more fibrotic tissue requires higher power; or the selected mode of operation, continuous or pulse can be used for pain relief or teeth whitening. The speed of cutting desired by the operator will also determine the power intensity selected, it is always best to use the lowest power setting that will effectively modify the tissue while avoiding tissue charring.
Most commonly performed procedures performed with the CHEESE Diode Laser: Gingivectomy, Gingivoplasty Soft Tissue Crown Lengthening Troughing for impressions or cementation Creating emergence profile for Ovate Pontics Recontouring of interproximal tissue Implant exposure Treating of Aphtous Ulcers, Herpetic Lesions Biopsy and Fibroma Removal Abscess Care - Incision and Drainage Hemostasis Frenum Release Exposure of slow erupting teeth Sealing lymphatics in surgical area Soft Tissue curettage for periodontal treatment Treating Gingival Hyperplasia Operculectomy Joint and Muscle Pain Increased Circulation Soft Tissue Pain Teeth Whitening

What are the advantages of having a diode laser?

What are the advantages of having a diode laser?

Today's bonding techniques require total control over the operative site. A diode laser ensures the ability to achieve that. No other instrument available to the dentist has had the capability of such precise tissue sculpting. The diode laser is the least traumatic of all competing and conventional instruments. CHEESE Diode Lasers are affordable and small enough for every practice, simple to operate and easily learned and incorporated into your practice. The CHEESE Laser has a pain therapy and whitening handpiece to expand the procedures offered to patients.
