Science Behind Lipolysis
Laser Lipolysis is use laser energy to breaks down the membranes of the fat cells,
transforming them into an oily substance (liquid fat) that may be removed through
low-pressure suction or absorbed and eliminated by the body itself.
The procedure is significantly less traumatic than traditional liposuction (i.e. less bruising
and quicker recovery times) and involves practically no loss of blood, (due in equal parts
to the type of anaesthesia used and the heating effect of the laser which causes
coagulation of the blood).
In addition, the low level laser energy helps to stimulate collagen production in the skin
resulting in skin tightening.

Description of Operation method
Your physician will first numb the area to be treated with a local anesthetic. He will use a
laser to melt fat underneath the skin, then make tiny incisions through which a very small
cannula will fit (about the size of a spaghetti noodle). The physician will then very gently
begin the suction process, which removes fat cells and cellulite while smoothing out skin
and making it tighter.
The gentle procedure takes less than 30 minutes. There are no groggy side effects,
because only a local anesthetic is used. Down time is significantly reduced. However, if several procedures are done at the same time, the risks increase, especially if a person's
lower extremities are being treated. The physician should make sure that the patient does
not leave the hospital too soon after such procedures.

Effectiveness of the treatment
The technique has been successfully applied in the treatment of more than 8500 patients
in Latin America without any complications or side effects. According to a study conducted
and published in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal in 2006, 88% of the 17, 376 patients
treated from 17 different countries were satisfied with the results of Lipolysis.

The outcomes
The results vary according to the patient's age, skin type, weight and lifestyle. Some
people see results immediately, whereas others notice a gradual change over a period of
weeks or months.
Since Lipolysis is effective in dissolving surplus fat and helping the body to block fat
storage the results are permanent. Improved blood flow to the targeted areas and the
enhancement of lymphatic drainage, combined with the removal of fibrotic tissue result in
a visible reduction of the orange peel effect associated with cellulite.
Results achieved with this procedure can be permanent as long as a sensible diet and
exercise is maintained to avoid future weight gain.
