Tulip Tip Fiber For EVLA
The use of standard fibers for EVLB is standard practice. Although the use of these fibers is effective, the inevideble direct contact between the very hot tip of the fiber and the vein wall is a disadvantage. This contact results in an odd vein wall destruction by ulceration, perforation and perivenous tissue damage. Vein wall perforations give ecchymosis, and perivenous tissue destruction is associated with postoperative inflammation and pain.
The solution to these complications is the use of a Tulip-tip fiber. The Tulip Tip prevents the hot fibertip from contact with the vessel wall and thereby perforating the vein wall. Furthermore, the Tulip TIp centers the intraluminal fibertip to obtain a homogeneous effect on the vein wall.
The advantages are obvious: less postoperative pain and very little ecchymosis. Especially in combination with a VELAS 1470nm laser(http://www.gigaalaser.com/velas1470/), the Tulip Tip-a virtually painless postoperative period.
An additional advantage: The Tulip Tip is by shape and material highly visible on the ultrasound screen.
