Laser for endovenous vascular therapy

The use of lasers to treat venous insufficiency (varicosis) is a modern alternative to traditional vein stripping. Due to the many times higher absorption in the blood and vessel wall compared to lasers with wavelengths of 810–1320 nm, lasers with emission wavelengths of around 1500 nm are particularly well suited to endovenous vascular therapy.
